Latest Tyre Points to Yokohama’s New Drive

Yokohama’s new C.drive is the first in an upcoming range of models

By Sheldon Trollope

CONFIDENCE, comfort, consistent handling – these terms that begin with the letter ‘C’ were just some of the terms that came to mind when developing the C.drive, described by Yokohama as an ‘all-in-one’ tyre. The new tyre was launched in the Singapore market on July 16th, and has gone on sale in a variety of sizes.

Positioned as an all-purpose tyre, C.drive is reportedly suited for entry to mid-level European sedans and Multi Purpose Vehicles (MPV).

Speaking with CarBuyer, Kenichi Shirai, a Yokohama product planning manager, explained that the C.drive is just the first in a series of upcoming tyre models, all branded in similar ‘.drive’ fashion according to their target market and positioning. Although he declined to reveal what these will be, it’s likely that they will be positioned in sporty and comfort-oriented market segments.

CarBuyer is the first to review the C.drive.
