Actress and television host Kym Ng knows her way around a fast car, and is a known to be a keen driver. CarBuyer catches up with her at the Saab stand at the Singapore Motorshow

Q: What car are you currently driving?
A: I am driving a Saab 9-3 Aero, and I really enjoy driving it.
Q: What do you like about the car?
A: Its fast and powerful, and I like fast and powerful cars. Its turbocharged, and the turbo kicks in at just 2,500rpm. The nice thing about the Aero is that the turbo boost is not sudden but very smooth. That’s why I went for the Saab.
Q: Since getting the Aero in February, what exciting things have you done with the car?
A: Drove to Malaysia – I love taking long, fast drives to Malaysia in the Aero. I’ve also been on a Saab Trail driveway to Kuantan and Kota Bahru. We really got to push the engine during that trip, and the car performed beautifully.
I also appreciate the fact that the Aero is quite luxurious. It is also spacious and comfortable, but it drives like a sports car.
Q: Which, all the cars at the Motorshow, would you like to drive home with?
A: I like this 9-3 Sport-Hatch Concept very much. I like hatchbacks because they are spacious, and I can put bikes and other stuff in the back. I also like the glass roof, and especially the 20-inch rims. Its also got a powerful 2.0-litre engine that has 250bhp, and it looks good.
That’s the nice thing about Saabs – they’re both good looking and powerful. I also like the touchscreen controls, it makes the car look very futuristic. I hope I get to drive it before my contract (with Saab) expires.
