INSTEAD OF TAKING time off like what most companies did during the New Year weekend, Cycle & Carriage Kia organised a four-day road show called the Kia Celebrate! Roadshow at Suntec City.
The full model line-up of eight cars was showcased on 558 square metres of floor space in front of Carrefour, and the company sold more than 100 vehicles in total. The Picanto, Rio and Cerato were the top-sellers.
Making their debuts at the road show were the all-new Sportage Sports Utility Vehicle (above) and the 2.0-litre Carens. Both models were well received and Cycle & Carriage managed to cement more than 30 bookings for the Sportage.
A spokeswoman from the Kia marketing team believed that the festive holidays did play a part in the final sales tally, as did the attractive promotion packages that entitled buyers to free leather upholstery and a chance to win up to $1,888 in cash.
Cycle and Carriage had a total of 11 road shows and one motorshow last year for Kia and Mitsubishi, and the next Kia road show has been planned to be held later this month.
Apart from the Sportage and 2.0-litre Carens, Kia will be launching two more cars this year – the all-new Rio and Magentis.
