Kia Blows Up a Picanto

Korean manufacturer targets its most affordable car at train commuters

IF YOU’RE ON the MRT heading past Leng Kee Road, keep an eye peeled for Kia’s new life-sized Picanto balloon. According to a Kia spokesperson, the balloon is expressly targeted at MRT commuters. It cost the company $4,000 to have fabricated and needs to be topped up with helium daily.

In addition, Kia had to get approval from the Civil Aviation Authority, so that passenger planes could be warned in time in the unlikely event that the balloon breaks free from its moorings.
