Dignitaries Celebrate Swedish National Day

SM Motors also shows off newly renovated premises

By Nick Syn

EARLIER THIS MONTH, SM Motors’ Volvo showroom on Alexandra Road played host to the who’s who of the diplomatic corps.

Organised by the Swedish Embassy, invited guests included the President of the Republic of Singapore, ambassadors, and other dignitaries who came together to celebrate Sweden’s National Day.

SM Motors took the opportunity to show off its newly renovated showroom. SM is noted for making frequent updates to the look of its premises and Volvo customers can now look forward to a more open café area, as well as three delivery bays. Customers taking delivery of their new cars now need no longer wait too long if there happens to be several deliveries scheduled at the same time.

According to an SM spokesperson, the renovation process also took environmental considerations into account.

The parquet flooring used for the café area is made up of hundreds of extra-thin slivers of wood, a more eco-friendly technique than methods conventionally employed.

In addition, a former parts store near the customer service area has been transformed into an additional model gallery, the highlight of which is the floor-to-ceiling mural depicting Volvo’s concept cars.

If customers come across a car they like on the showroom floor, they can adjourn to the model gallery to see the same car in a variety of colour and trim options.

Also on display are various interactive exhibits highlighting passenger safety, Volvo’s forte.
