Audi Gets A for Effort |
|||||||||
|
ENGINE The 2.0-litre 20 valve in-line four cylinder engine is reasonably smooth but not particularly quiet or torquey
INTERIOR Interior is much the same as that of the old car, which means that it’s excellent. Build quality is the best
REAR The rear treatment is now neater, scalloped tail lamp clusters and smoother bumpers make for a tauter look

Space in the front is generous, and tall occupants should have no trouble getting comfortable in the perfectly-trimmed electric leather seats. Space at the rear isn’t terrific but it should be more than adequate for most purposes. The boot, though, is especially voluminous, another trait that Audi’s are known for. You get an attractively sculpted steering wheel that comes with satellite controls for the stereo, as well as a voice-activation trigger for the mobile phone option. Funnily enough, you can still try to talk to the German lady who lives in the bowels of the car’s electronic guts, even if you don’t opt for the phone option.
