Too Haute to Handle?

ENGINE 2.0-litre turbocharged engine is very punchy, and it’s mated to the excellent twin-clutch DSG gearbox

INTERIOR The interior is impeccably built and features some components that are also found in the ultra-stylish TT coupe

EXTERIOR The A3 is very handsome and our test car came with an optional S-line bodykit that further enhances the car’s good looks

No matter how you look at it, it’s difficult to describe the A3’s equipment level without using the word ‘sparse’, especially considering the price.

To be fair, it has the usual gamut of safety equipment like airbags and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), electrically adjustable front seats and a dual-zone climate control air-conditioning system.

Glaringly obvious omissions for a car at this price level, however, are the multi-function steering wheel, tyre pressure sensors and CD-changer.
