FROM NOW TILL January 15 2006, if you test drive or make a booking for a Hyundai Verna you stand a chance to win $1,000,000. Komoco Motors, Hyundai’s local distributor, is stumping up this unprecedented sum for a hole-in-one golf challenge to promote the newly-launched replacement for the Accent.

“Our goal is to ignite interest in the Verna in a big way and drive up the rate of test-drives,” said Komoco’s marketing manager, Quah Bee Jin. “If we succeed in doing that, then people would discover for themselves
just how good the new car really is.”

200 people will be chosen by random ballot out of all the entries received to take part in the golf challenge. Those who took the Verna for a test drive will get one chance to be chosen, while those who actually booked the car get three. The hole-in-one challenge will take place at Jurong Country Club on January 21.

“The cash prize of $1,000,000 is the largest ever offered in any amateur hole-in-one contest in Singapore. And, because this is a unique stand-alone hole-in-one shoot-out, we’ll get to the drama and excitement right away, unlike other hole-in-one contests held within tournaments where one must complete an actual 18-hole round of golf”, added Miss Quah.
