- The all-new eighth-generation model is a real class act

HONDA DESCRIBES THE Civic in silhouette as a ‘one-motion’ form, although this might seem a bit like belabouring a point. What ‘one motion’ form implies is clean, flowing lines and minimal adornment, so giving it a name can seem a little churlish. The Civic is arguably the most important car in the Japanese manufacturer’s line-up and the latest model’s determinedly spare aesthetic is evocative of the great sense of confidence that Honda has in this particular product.
A quick poke about the car easily confirms that Honda has appeared to have spared no effort with regards to the Civic’s development. Meticulousness oozes from just about every panel.
You might take a while to get used to the car’s looks but there’s no denying how well everything’s been engineered. The nose is accented by a restrained strip of chrome running across the front grille, and a pair of neatly sculpted headlamps. The rear is Integra-esque and you get a pair of sporty-looking stainless steel exhausts. The whole, however, in spite of the restrained detailing, manages to be quite striking.
