Honda Accord 2.4 (A)
April 24, 2008

An inspired Accord

The Accord’s cabin is huge. Even though Honda states that it is only 3.2 percent larger on the inside than the car that it replaces, it feels much bigger. The leather seats are supple, and the front seats have high shoulder supports that hug its occupants more snugly than normal for a car in this market segment, which is great when engaging in some spirited driving.

It’s a low slung cabin, and you’ll feel quite secure within its confines. Some clever engineering of the interior means that visibility isn’t hampered, and well laid out controls make it easy to operate the dual zone air conditioning. A USB port for plugging in portable music storage devices comes standard.

We counted seven individual sources of illumination on the roof of the cabin including the lights on the sun visor mirrors, making it a very bright cabin should you turn them on all at once when the car is parked.

One area that is a tad lacking is the display screen in the middle of the dashboard. It displays things like your current song title, climate control temperature and other basic information, but there is no fuel economy gauge amongst its functions and the screen looks very big for the sparse amount of information that it is displaying.
