PORSCHE CENTRE SINGAPORE and Team Porsche Club Singapore Racing jointly organised a one day track event recently to raise funds for the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.
This was held at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit and 72 Porsches from Porsche Clubs of Singapore and Hong Kong participated for the good cause. 37 Porsches from Porsche Club Hong Kong were shipped in for the event.
Donors got a chance to be driven around the racetrack in Porsche race cars namely the 911 GT3 RSR and the 911 GT3 Cup Car by experienced Porsche race car drivers Mok Weng Sun, Tan Ian-Mao, Darryl O’ Young, and Sven Herberger.
Those who donated a minimum of $300 were entitled to a three hour track session with their own Porsches. A total of $65,888 was raised by the end of the event.
Porsche Centre Singapore executive chairman Karsono Kwee says this event presents Porsche and its valued customers with an excellent opportunity to give something to the children supported by the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.
“This illustrates how the company tries to engage in ways to give something back to the community while keeping in line with Porsche’s legendary motor sports heritage,” he said.
