Subaru Forester 2.5 XT (A)

Forester in the Concrete Jungle

At $89,000, the Forester 2.5XT is a steal when compared with its rivals such as the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V which cost around $10,000 more. For this price, there is a decent amount of standard equipment such as high intensity discharge headlamps, 17-inch alloy rims, leather seats, a sunroof, a factory fitted stereo system, front and side airbags and anti-lock brakes.

However, there is a need to factor in the car’s slightly high petrol consumption. Official figures put it at around 10 kilometres per litre. Seven to nine kilometres per litre were shown on the digital display when the car was being reviewed. This is definitely fuel for thought when the Forester uses 95 RON and above and in this day and age of high pump prices.
