Volkswagen Scirocco 2.0 (A)
July 10, 2008

A storm is coming

VW’s policy of building its cars from modular assemblies means that there are plenty of familiar bits inside the Scirocco.

Much of the interior components will be familiar to anyone who has ever sat inside a Golf, Eos or Jetta, but there are some newly designed bits in the Scirocco’s cabin, like the seats that proved to be very snug and supportive and some nicely sculpted trim on the door panels.

The back row will seat only two not because it’s small, but because even the rear seat passengers get individual sports seats shaped into the rear bench. There is actually a lot of head and leg room in the back, comparable to the amount of space you would find in some medium hatchbacks.
