Besides the 2.0-litre turbo, there is also a 1.4-litre TSI engine available with the Scirocco. Whether or not that will come to Singapore has yet to be confirmed.

It’s a good car from almost every perspective, but the Scirocco’s biggest potential competitor actually resides inside the same showroom. It’s easy to look at the Scirocco as a more flamboyant Golf GTI, and it actually retails for a few hundred Euros less than the GTI in Europe.

But the new Golf is just round the corner, and on paper at least the Scirocco is a very different car from the more conventional looking Golf.
