Facelifted Ford Focus comes to town
Sharper and more dynamic looks for the blue oval’s small hatchback and sedan
By Justin Lee
THE FACELIFTED FORD Focus has just arrived at local distributor’s Regent Motor’s showroom.
It sports the brand’s current kinetic design language which premiered on the Mondeo. A new front grille, swept back headlamps, bold wheel arches, redesigned rear windscreen, a contoured tailgate and new tail lamps are the key changes made to the exterior.
The 1.6-litre 16-valve engine from the outgoing model has been carried over unchanged and the four-speed automatic gearbox is now standard across the range. The available body styles are a hatch and a sedan. The hatch comes in one trim level while the sedan gets two - a standard and a high specced version.
Equipment levels are high and the Focus comes with an anti-lock braking system, twin airbags, a factory fitted audio system with six-disc in-dash CD changer, 16-inch alloy rims, leather seats, a powered driver’s seat, steering wheel mounted audio controls and adaptive headlights for the standard hatch and sedan models. The high specced sedan model adds to the list a dual zone climate control system and a sunroof.
Prices for the Focus are as follows:
1.6 Sedan - $73,888 with COE
1.6 Sedan SR - $77,888 with COE
1.6 Hatchback - $74,888 with COE
