We finally see what all the fuss is about, for it’s easy to understand why the Wish is so popular. It will carry seven without being a lumbering beast to drive, and is as easy to operate and user-friendly as a toaster oven.

There’s little excitement to be had from driving it, but we suspect that that might be a large reason for the Toyota Wish’s famed economy at the pumps. On one trip from the heart of town back to our office, we drove it gently enough for the average fuel economy gauge to show us 16km per litre.
