GM and Segway reinvent urban transportation
The P.U.M.A project is an electric two-wheeler that the American carmaker claims can help solve traffic congestion

GENERAL MOTORS HAS partnered Segway makers of the two-wheeled self balancing electric vehicle to come up with the Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility (P.U.M.A.) project.
In development is an electric two-wheeler with space for two that the American carmaker believes can ‘allow people to travel around cities more quickly, safely, quietly and cleanly and at a lower cost’.
The P.U.M.A. has an all-electric drivetrain that includes electronic steering and braking. To balance on two-wheels, it gets a dynamic stabilisation system.
The prototype currently runs on a lithium-ion battery which allows it to achieve a top speed of 56km/h and it can run for up to 56km on a single charge.
Singapore will be one of the first countries to adopt the P.U.M.A. project but the exact release date of the electric two-wheeler has not been confirmed.
