Polo for the populace

The biggest change here isn’t only its design. Build quality has definitely gone up another notch, again a positive and tangible factor when buyers consider it against market rivals. Shifting the gear lever feels like you’re in a car that costs well over a hundred grand, and all its buttons, switches and even the air-conditioning vents have an assuring, tactile feel.

Legroom in the rear has increased slightly, due to an interior length that’s eight-millimetres longer overall. Boot space is also rather generous, starting with 280 litres and going up to 952 litres with the rear seats folded down.
