YOU’RE MARRIED WITH children, but you don’t want to give up your love for sleek, two-doored cars, and your wife wants you to get something that can fit the family. There aren’t that many cars in that category to choose from, actually. But now, there’s one more from Audi, and it’s hot stuff.
Not only does the A5 Cabriolet have looks that should impress the ladies at the clubs - good if you’re single - it’s also got the power to force most other convertibles around to step aside and give way. In fact, with its turbocharged 2.0-litre engine making 211bhp and 350Nm of torque (like the one in the Q5 SUV) , it’s the fastest four-seater convertible in its league, while its biggest competitor, the BMW 325i Convertible, takes about 0.8 seconds longer to get from 0-100km/h.
The A5 Cabriolet has also rebelled against the trend of hard-top convertibles, choosing instead to use a fabric roof which results in lower weight than if it wore the hard hat. But just because it’s made of fabric doesn’t mean it’s dainty - the roof can be raised or dropped in 17 or 15 seconds, respectively, even up to 50km/h. It may sound fancy, but when you’re out driving topless and heavens start to pour, you don’t have to pull to the side of the road or get to a traffic light to activate your shelter.
