Hypercar maker Bugatti has its first showroom in Singapore, S$5m Chiron Pur Sport on display. Fixing an appointment beforehand is recommended

SINGAPORE – Bugatti, the maker of very exclusive, exotic and expensive high-performance machines – commonly the world’s fastest production cars – has opened its very first regional showroom, located in Singapore.

The showroom is located at Wearnes Automotive’s premises on 45 Leng Kee Road, situated between the Aston Martin showroom and the Infiniti-soon-to-be-Polestar showroom. Wearnes also holds the dealership for super-high performance Swedish marque Koeniggsegg, and the new part-owner of Bugatti, Rimac, so if you love your cars with stratospheric prices and performance it’s probably worth a visit.

At approximately 1,600 square foot, the showroom currently houses the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport.

The Pur Sport is the most focused, agile version of the Chiron to date – think the 911 GT3 RS to a normal 911 GT3. Limited to 60 units, it has swathes of carbonfibre, more aggressive aerodynamics for increased downforce (see the 1.9-metre wide rear wing), specially tuned suspension, lightweight bits including magnesium wheels, full titanium exhaust and lots more.

The car has 1,500hp and 1,600Nm of torque from its 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbo engine, and does 0-100km/h in only 2.3 seconds, 0-200km/h in a nutty 5.5 seconds. Top speed? ‘Only’ 350km/h, because of the aero is optimised for downforce rather than low-drag.

If you’re tempted, the car costs 3.5-million Euro without options – that runs to S$4.94-million at today’s exchange rates. You won’t need a COE at least, since this is a left-hand drive car (Bugatti still hasn’t made RHD models) so if you buy it in Singapore you’ll need a place to store it.

Other highlights of the showroom include an S$8,000 scale model of the Bugatti Divo, the limited-edition carbonfibre helmet given to owners of the world speed-record breaking Chiron Super Sport 300+.

Bugatti’s Southeast Asia region distributor, Wearnes Automotive, built the showroom, which was originally scheduled to open in mid-2020, but was delayed by COVID-19 and has only just started taking visitors and customers.

Right now, Wearnes says it’s best to make an appointment before visiting the showroom, as entry is very limited. When CarBuyer visited the showroom there was a constant stream of curious visitors to see the Chiron Pur Sport through the glass.

Members of the public will be let in to see the car – in between customer/prospect appointments – but it’s not a given as there are distancing requirements, and there aren’t enough staff members on hand to shepherd them, which is normal for a brand as exclusive as Bugatti.
