Singapore automotive tyre stalwart Stamford opens its 14th branch at uber-convenient Serangoon Gardens location

SINGAPORE – You probably already know where Stamford Tyres’ newest branch is.

‘49 Serangoon Gardens Way’ likely draws stomach growls and little else, but the 14th and newest outlet of the Singaporean tyre, wheel and car accessory specialist Stamford Tyres is actually at the unmissable Shell service station that sits on the junction between Serangoon Gardens Way and Lorong Chuan.

The branch, which saw its official opening today, also has a special inauguration offer: It’s slashing 50 percent off all tyres and service for the first 30 customers each day, on July 8, 9, and 10.

Primarily, it will serve customers looking for new tyres, wheels, most obviously. But like all of Stamford Tyres’ service locations it also offers general automotive services, including battery/electrical, drivetrain servicing, tune-ups, inspections, and general repairs.

There’s an air-conditioned front office where customers can wait in comfort, and also a concierge desk to help them find what they’re looking for. Similar to its Alexandra Village branch which opened last year, the Serangoon Gardens branch is within walking distance to popular eating spots, so customers can drop off their cars, grab a bite, and come back to collect their rides on a full belly.

With 3,789 square feet and eight work bays, it’s a sizeable workshop that should be able to handle a large influx of customers and keep waiting times to a minimum.

Customers can view Stamford’s own brand of wheels, SSW, as well as wheels from the ‘Lexus of wheels’ Rays Japan, and Wedsport. Tyre brands offered include Bridgestone, Pirelli, Continental, Dunlop, Falken, General Tires, and Sumo Firenza.

There’s also historical connection to the the location: Stamford Tyres president and founder Mr Wee Kok Wah kicked off his business selling tyres at the family service station located on Stamford Road (hence the name). His uncle continued the petrol side of the business, and one outlet ended up being this one at Serangoon Gardens.
