Aston Martin’s high-performance DBX707 packs 697hp, due in Singapore this year

SINGAPORE

Aston Martin announced the new DBX707: the world’s most powerful luxury SUV; in its  words at least. 

Based on the current Built on the V8 DBX’s design, the DBX707 claims more power, more acceleration, and more driving-pleasure. 

The uprated biturbo 4.0-litre V8 engine from the existing DBX delivers 697hp and 900Nm of torque. For reference, the standard DBX stands at 542hp and 700Nm. And for comparison, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT sits at 640hp and 850Nm, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan at 571hp and 850Nm, and the Lamborghini Urus at 650hp and 850Nm.

Part of the DBX707’s leap in performance are its Carbon Ceramic Brakes that will account for an estimated 40.5kg reduction in unsprung weight.

There’s also improved suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential, and active roll control system so you can blast through corners faster than ever. The all-wheel drive system will also allow you to send 100-percent of it to the rear axle. 

Drummond Jacoy, Head of Vehicle Engineering and Procurement at Aston Martin notes that the objective of the DBX707 was to “match immense performance with impeccable control and precision” in addition to creating “the ultimate SUV”. Apart from completely upgrading what goes into this SUV, the DBX707 is also receiving a design makeover. The result is something entirely sporting but with the same great Aston Martin style and attention to detail. 

Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, remarks that function was the motivating factor for some changes such as the enlarged grille and rear spoiler. These go toward increasing cooling airflow to its engine and increasing stability at high speeds. The sportness continues within the car as Sport seats will be fitted as standard while Comfort seats are also available at no cost.

While the DBX707 features a dark chrome finish on the switches, customers will also be able to personalise their vehicle through the brand’s bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin. 

The flagship in the DBX range, the DBX707 is slated to commence production in Q1 of 2022 and Aston Martin will hit our shores in Q3 of 2022. No word yet on the price range but estimate it to land somewhere 20-percent upwards of the normal DBX (available on our Marketplace). On its launch in 2021 the DBX was priced at S$788,000 without COE, so you can estimate the DBX707 to land somewhere around S$945,600 with a 20-percent increase.
