Audi has launched the all-new RS 3 in Singapore, with the RS3 Sportback priced at S$363,075 and the Sedan priced at S$374,395, prices inclusive of COE and S$20,000 VES surcharge under band C2.

Based on the four-door Audi A3 and the sportier S3, the RS3’s five-cylinder engine is torquier with more power and enhanced chassis tuning. The two RS3 variants will have a 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder turbo engine which produces 401 horses and 500 Nm of torque. 0-100km/h takes only 3.8 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor. Both Sportback and Sedan share the same top speed of 250km/h. However, opting for the RS dynamics package plus increases the top speed to 290km/h.

The new Audi RS3 is the first Audi model with a rear torque splitter. This technology makes fully variable torque distribution between the rear wheels possible and allows the car to be more drifty than any other Audi – R8 RWD supercar aside.

Upfront, the RS3 features a wide RS bumper, the redesigned Singleframe with a glossy black honeycomb grille, and the extra-large air intakes. The RS3 comes as standard with matrix LED headlights – they have a unique animation sequence spelling the car’s name – RS 3 – on startup.

Audi also adds two new drive modes in the RS3, taking its total to seven. The ‘RS Performance’ and ‘RS Torque Rear’ joins the current ‘efficiency’, ‘comfort’, ‘auto’, ‘dynamic’ and ‘RS Individual’ driver modes. RS Torque Rear is basically drift mode.

The RS3 has a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for easy mobile connectivity. There is also built-in navigation, a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless phone charging coming as standard.

The arrival of the RS 3 should heat up the mega hatch/small very-high performance car segment, where the RS 3 will compete against the likes of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 and A 45, and BMW M2.
