Borneo Motors is holding auction sales for Lexus and Toyota, on May 11-14, and May 15-18, respectively

SINGAPORE

The slew of Circuit Breaker online car sales continues, with Lexus and Toyota both announcing auction-style sales.

Both brands are distributed here by Borneo Motors, but they’re not the first auction sale to take place – that was Suzuki (which is also under the same corporate group (Inchcape)) – and held an auction-style sale in late April. 

First off is the Lexus e-Auction, which is started yesterday, and runs until May 14, 11:59pm. 

Three models are up for auction, with five units of each on the block, they are named below. Click on the links to read our review of each model.

The Lexus RX 300 SUV.

The Lexus ES 300h large sedan. 

The Lexus IS 300h executive sedan. 

To bid, you log onto https://auction.lexus.com.sg/ then put a S$500 deposit, then place a bid for the car you want at the price you think will stick. If it works, and your bid is successful, you’ll be notified on May 15 by Lexus Singapore. 

Lexus says auction cars receive Lexus Assure benefits free, which includes a guaranteed COE with rebate, and waives the first three months of loan interest and insurance (with in-house insurance and financing). 

Toyota’s Virtual Auction

The Toyota Virtual Auction, as Toyota Singapore names it, operates on the same principles. The models up for auction are the Toyota Sienta MPV, Toyota Harrier SUV, Toyota Corolla Altis, the Toyota RAV4 SUV, and Vios small sedan. 

[update] Toyota Singapore has revealed the full list of vehicles on auction, and it includes 14 models in total, almost the entire lineup here. Models on auction include:

Toyota Vios – G and E models
Toyota Camry 2.5
Toyota Corolla Altis – Standard and Elegance models

SUVs
Toyota C-HR Active
Toyota Harrier
Toyota RAV4

MPVs
Toyota Alphard / Vellfire
Toyota Sienta – Standard and Elegance models
Toyota Previa Aeras
Toyota Prius+

There isn’t any mention of the full T&Cs just yet (we’re waiting for more info) but what we know so far is that the same S$500 deposit is required, there are a ‘limited number’ of units on auction, and according to Borneo Motors, the lowest bidding prices begin at ‘S$6X,XXX’. This isn’t the first sale for Toyota, in fact it’s the third promo held during the circuit breaker to date, with an earlier flash sale, and a demo unit sale on Lazada. 

What else is on sale?

There are quite a few promos that run until CB ends: Skoda and Volkswagen have S$5k to S$20k off their lineups, Honda has promotions including a name-your-own COE promo, Audi has a new virtual showroom and sale too.
