Porsche has given its Macan SUV yet another facelift, after getting one back in 2018. The updated Macan receives styling enhancements, a completely revamped interior, and more power across the range. The Macan Turbo variant has also been dropped, with its place being effectively taken by the revised Macan GTS.

There is no firm timeline for the updated Macan to arrive in Singapore yet, but the SUV goes on sale across Europe in October, so expect to see the car here some time early next year by our estimates. Pricing details have not been released too, but it should probably hover around the current model’s price range, which starts at S$250,000 or so without COE for the base Macan.

UPDATE (22 July 2021): Porsche Singapore has announced local pricing for the updated Macan. Prices start at S$260,088 for the Macan 2.0, S$299,888 for the Macan S, and S$359,988 for the Macan GTS. All prices are without COE.

The updated Macan lineup will be three model strong, with the entry-level Macan 2.0 model getting its four-cylinder engine boosted to 265hp, up from 245hp previously. The mid-tier Macan S (above) meanwhile swaps its 3.0-litre V6 for a new 2.9-litre V6, and sees its power output upped to 380hp, an increase of 25hp over the previous version’s 355hp.

The flagship Macan model now though is the GTS (above), which gets its 2.9-litre biturbo V6 engine tuned to produce the same output as the outgoing Macan Turbo. This means that the Macan GTS now develops 440hp, 60hp more than the previous GTS’ output of 380hp. The Macan Turbo has now been dropped, and the GTS takes its place at the top of the Macan range.

The styling changes to the Macan are relatively minor, and include a redesigned front grille, a revised rear diffuser, new LED headlights, and new alloy wheel design choices. The GTS also gets black trim elements, and a bespoke rear diffuser that’s different from the ones on the other Macan models.

The more significant changes are to the Macan’s interior, which has been revamped for a cleaner look. The physical buttons and switches down by the centre console alongside the gear selector have been replaced by touch-sensitive haptic items that are illuminated, giving the interior a less cluttered look. Porsche will also offer more customisation options for Macan customers, with greater upholstery and trim choices available.

The Macan has been a key model in Porsche’s lineup, with some 600,000 units sold since its introduction in 2014, the vast majority of which were to new Porsche customers. The Stuttgart carmaker is expected to launch a new Macan EV that’s based on a new platform next year, with the updated ICE Macans to be sold alongside it in a transitional phase.
