Porsche has partnered with SP Group to come up with Singapore’s largest manufacturer-branded EV charging network, with a target of 51 charging stations by mid-2022

SINGAPORE

Porsche and SP Group have teamed up to create Singapore’s largest manufacturer-branded electric vehicle (EV) charging network. Porsche Destination Charging (PDC), as the network will be called, aims to have 51 charging stations islandwide by the middle of 2022.

SP currently runs 10 PDC charging points at two locations in Singapore, at ONE ̊15 Marina Sentosa Cove and Jewel Changi Airport, while Porsche themselves operate 11 standalone charging points at Marina Bay Sands and Sentosa Golf Club.

The two companies announced today that it is adding a further three PDC locations, comprising an additional 15 charging points, that will go live in January 2022, namely at Gardens by the Bay, South Beach and Sembawang Country Club.

Porsche and SP have also worked with City Developments Limited (CDL) to expand EV infrastructure at CDL’s properties, and will add new charging sites at City Square Mall, King’s Centre, Palais Renaissance and Quayside Isle, bolstering the network with a further 15 charging points.

The power rating at each charging point varies across the network, with the fastest available rate of 50kW being available at selected stations, the same as SP Group’s own network of public fast charging stations. The PDC network will be accessible from the SP Utilities app, from which users can locate their nearest charging point, start and end the charging process, and make payment.

The PDC network is open to all owners of EVs or plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), regardless of brand, but as a Porsche branded network, Porsche owners will get to enjoy added benefits from utilising PDC. These include one year of complimentary charging starting from 1 January 2022, and 20 percent off the charging tariff at all PDC sites subsequently. Existing Porsche EV/PHEV owners also get 10 percent off the charging tariff at all of SP Group’s network of charging points until 31 December 2021.
