Kia has released images of the next-generation Sorento, which is set to be unveiled in the flesh at the upcoming 2020 Geneva Motorshow on 5 March.

According to Kia, the completely new version of the commanding SUV is built on the concept of ‘refined boldness’, which maintains the robust and tough aesthetic of the earlier generation designs but now with a greater degree of refinement.

The new, fourth-generation car exhibits sharper lines and has a more angular appearance overall, while still incorporating Kia’s hallmark ‘tiger nose’ front intake grille design. It’s marked a contrast to the third-generation car’s rounded silhouette.

Kia states that the car has a longer wheelbase with shorter front and rear overhangs, which should make for a more stable drive all round. Also expect the new Sorento to retain the five and seven-seat configurations of the current model.

Engine options have not yet been announced, though Kia has tantalisingly revealed that this is the first Sorento where electric power will be on offer. The current version is available in Singapore with a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine.

Local Kia dealer Cycle & Carriage has stated that the car set to arrive in Singapore sometime in the second half of 2020.
